A Need for Change 100% Ocean Waste Plastic
We’re committed to reducing plastic in our salon : by choosing Kevin. Murphy who are cleaning up our oceans and reclaiming that plastic to package their hair products. Starting now, they are converting their bottles to 100% reclaimed Ocean Waste Plastic (OWP) and in doing so,it will save a projected 360 tons of plastic from the ocean each year.
Peta Approved
When choosing products for the salon and for client use at home we are conscious of the impact it can have on animal welfare. With this in mind we only want to work with brands that do not test on animals.
Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the largest animal rights organisation in the world, has proudly accepted KEVIN.MURPHY as one of their recommended ‘Cruelty Free’ companies.
Kevin. Murphy will not harm nor test on animals. they avoid the use of any ingredient that will damage or harm animals and the environment in any way at all. which is why its the perfect choice for us.
Reducing Water Waste
Water is an essential part of our environment and a necessary part of our daily business. It has been estimated that by 2025,two-thirds of the world will be water-stressed, by using ECOHEADS in the salon we are conserving water while providing a better experience for our clients and aiding the preservation of our water reserves
Re-fill Station
Bring your shampoo or conditioner bottle into the salon for recycling or to be re-filled. You will reduce plastic waste and lower your carbon footprint as well as contributing to a more sustainable future. For every bottle we re-fill £1 from the sale will be donated to Coast Care Northumberland who spend every weekend cleaning up our beautiful beaches of plastic waste.
Paper Not Foil
Salons use enough foil to wrap around the earth once a year with only 1% recycling their foils the rest ends up in landfill where it takes 400 years to degrade
This sustainable mineral paper uses 96% less energy to produce than foil, no water is used in the manufacturing process, made from recycled stone, degrades with no toxic waste, can be reused, is kinder to your hair, and enhances client comfort.
Renewable Energy
Electricity plays a huge part in the daily running of our salon. Hairdryers on average emit 25,000kg of Co2 gases a year. Switching to Bulb provides us 100% renewable energy from solar, wind and hydro power last year we managed to save 404kg of Co2 which would take 202 trees a year to absorb.
